955 Dreams, makers of award-winning apps like Band of the Day and History of Jazz, today announced the launch of Applauze 1.0, a new, iOS-only app that makes the experience of discovering, planning, and securing tickets for free or paid events simpler and more beautiful than ever before.
Applauze was built from the ground up to be a mobile-first experience, focusing relentlessly on the user experience and makes the often-frustrating experience of purchasing tickets a thing of the past. In addition, the app allows users to discover free or paid local or community events, to find the perfect outing with family or friends.
Applauze launches in 25 U.S. cities with a variety of purchasable events including popular concerts, sports, theatre and community events. Additionally, Applauze finds the best free events nearby and presents them in the same fluid interface. Applauze stays with users through the full buying process, eliminating the anxiety around securing tickets for popular events. Users purchase and secure tickets with a few taps, and in-app customer support ensures the process remains seamless and hassle free.
While discovering and purchasing tickets are Applauze's core utilities, the app helps users connect with friends and plan their attendance from within the app. A robust messaging system mixes automated updates with chat messages, helping a group keep pertinent info in one place to smooth the planning process.

Applauze at SXSW:
Applauze, which launched today, will give members exclusive VIP access to special events during SXSW. Applauze members simply have to launch the app during the festival and RSVP for the events within the app. Applauze will take care of the rest, from confirming attendance and, in some cases, getting them backstage VIP access to meet and greet the artists or celebrities.
